This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application (the “App”). PetPOV provides features that allow you to create entertaining, animated videos and text of your pets using artificial intelligence.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using PetPOV, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

1. Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

• Media and Content: When you use our core features, you may upload photos of your pets via your device’s camera or photo library. We require your explicit consent before accessing your camera or photo library and before transmitting any of this data.
• Text Data: You may explicitly provide text information such as your pet’s name, the owner’s name, and the pet’s gender.
• Customer Support: If you contact us for support, we may collect your name, email address, and the contents of your communication.

B. Automatically Collected Information

When you access the App, we may collect certain information automatically to ensure the App functions correctly:

• Device Information: Your mobile device ID, model, manufacturer, operating system version, and language settings.
• Usage Data: Details about your interaction with the App, such as features used, time spent, generation quotas, and crash reports.
• Purchase Information: If you purchase a premium subscription, Apple handles your payment. We receive anonymized purchase data and subscription status. We do not process or store sensitive payment details such as credit card numbers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information only for purposes relevant to the core functionality of the App:

• To provide and operate the App’s core AI video and text generation features.
• To process subscriptions and manage your account quotas.
• To detect, prevent, and address technical issues and bugs to improve App stability.
• To communicate with you regarding updates, security alerts, and support messages.

We only request access to data relevant to the core functionality of the App. We do not repurpose collected data without your further consent unless explicitly permitted by law. We do not build a user profile based on collected data for third-party use or marketing.

3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. To provide you with the App’s functionality, we share specific data with trusted third-party service providers. We confirm that any third party with whom we share user data will provide the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this Privacy Policy and required by Apple’s App Review Guidelines.

• AI Processing Partner (OpenAI): To generate the AI “talking pet” content, your uploaded photos and associated text data (such as selected persona, pet name, and owner name) are securely transmitted to OpenAI. We explicitly ask for your permission in the App before sending this data. OpenAI uses this data solely for the purpose of generating the requested content. OpenAI provides the same or equal protection of user data as stated in this Privacy Policy. OpenAI is strictly prohibited from using your data for their own independent purposes, and they do not use your data to train their AI models.
• Backend & Analytics (Firebase): We use Firebase (by Google) for cloud functions, database hosting, crash reporting, and basic analytics to understand app performance and stability.
• Subscription Management (RevenueCat): We use RevenueCat to handle App Store subscription status verifications.

4. Data Retention

We practice data minimization and retain your data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy.

• AI Media: Photos and text data transmitted to OpenAI are processed ephemerally. OpenAI temporarily retains data only as long as necessary to fulfill the API request and automatically deletes it shortly after processing. We do not store your uploaded media on our own operational servers after the result is returned to your device.
• Other Data: Application settings, generated text history, and saved names are stored locally on your device using UserDefaults. If you delete the App, this locally stored data is deleted immediately.
